 San Diego Residential Client Commissions

We announced Craig Thibodeau’s Carpathian Elm and Cherry Dining Set in our post “Recent Studio Furniture Commissions by Craig Thibodeau” back in August of 2012. The client, a San Diego California based marketing executive, is thoroughly enjoying his family’s new dining table and chairs. He so enjoyed the process of co-creating with Craig Thibodeau, that he’s commissioned several additional pieces. You can learn more about these in our posts: “Craig Thibodeau’s Art Deco Console with Trompe L’oeil Marquetry”; and “New: Craig Thibodeau’s Art Deco Club Chair and Ottoman”.  [Links to these posts are below]

This client recently commissioned Craig Thibodeau to do a more ambitious Trompe L’oeil piece. The new piece’s design phase is just getting started;  I’ll keep you posted once the make phase is in progress –  AKD

New England Residential Client Commissions

A successful high tech entrepreneur saw this piece online in September of 2012 and invited Craig Thibodeau to submit a proposal for a slightly larger custom dining set to be  made with similar styling for the family’s soon-to-be-built Arts and Crafts Revival home.

Craig Thibodeau submitted a very thorough design and quote. The clients reviewed the CTFineFurniture website as well as Craig Thibodeau’s portfolio on Inlay-Arts.com. His proposal was selected. He flew to the East Coast to present his designs to the clients, their Architect and their Interior Designer. The presentation went quite well. Craig flew back to San Diego with a 43 piece commission encompassing all of the custom furniture for the clients’ new Arts and Crafts Revival home!

New Dining Set – Corner Detail

Craig Thibodeau recently sent two shipments of finished pieces to his clients and their building team: the bedroom and library suites and the dining room suites. He flew out to help with the furniture installations and confirm that the clients were delighted – which they were – and to fine-tune the rest of the commission plans. When I spoke with him last Monday, he was back in his studio and hard at work.

I’ll follow-up on this post with updates on the two shipments already delivered and progress reports on Craig Thibodeau’s new pieces, including the remainder of this impressive commission.
