The LINLEY artisans are working to complete David Linley’s Art Deco marquetry art work so that the panels can be shipped to the Fincatieri shipyards in Monfalcone, Italy, where it is to be installed this summer as the centerpiece of the new Queen Elizabeth’s grand lobby.

Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth Being Prepared For Her Naming Ceremony And Maiden Voyage
Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth is being made ready for her naming ceremony on October 11 in Southampton. The Queen Elizabeth’s first world voyage will start from Southampton on January 3, 2011. Cunard’s loyal customers are so eager to experience her first world voyage that this first trip was sold out within a half hour of being made available. Cunard is already offering the opportunity to book your passage for her second World voyage in 2012. Fares for the full 107-day World Voyage experience start from $2,775 per person.

Two-point-five decks high, wow, that is amazing! Will you keep us posted as to when the art is actually installed on the Queen Elizabeth? I'll subscribe to the blog. And the floors in the artist's rendition, are some or all of those marquetry artwork, too? Who knows, maybe I will be able to go on a cruise and see the artwork first hand! Thanks for sharing the artwork-in-progress photos.
